"Building Tolerance
and Understanding Through Education"
CraftWise College Mission Statement
CraftWise College
Events is a Pagan/Wiccan/Metaphysical organization dedicated to promoting Tolerance and Understanding through Education.
We invite knowledgeable Faculty
(local, national, and international) to share their expertise, experiences and spiritual traditions.
We create an environment conducive
to an open and free exchange of ideas and to networking.
We recognize that learning continues
beyond a formal classroom setting. We work to provide an area where Faculty and Students can relax, talk, debate and network,
all while enjoying our new permanent site, Brushwood Folklore Center.
We actively support education
for those in Leadership positons in covens, groups, organizations, events and the Community by providing Leadership-specific
workshops, lectures and rituals.
We promote and support continuing
education and connectivity for students, who can participate in a special online "CraftWise College Community
Faculty Office" available only to students who attend CraftWise College. Through
this online Community, CWC Faculty can share follow-up readings, meditations and experiencial activities with students; students
can share their on-going work, and pose questions to specific faculty or to the faculty at large.
We encourage Faculty and Students
alike to think outside the "local" community to the greater regional, national, international, and global Communities,
and to look beyond our small circles to the larger Circle of Service to Community and Deity.
Mission Statement for Faculty
Symposia
To address the challenges of
economics and their effect on the Pagan Community...
To explore avenues of opportunity and ways the Pagan
Community can benefit...
To share insights and creative problem solving, utilizing
our unique talents as Pagans...
To harness and appreciate the lessons and legacy bequeathed to
us by our Ancestors: capacity for hard work, resilience, inspiration and Hope...
How our Events "works"
CraftWise College in the Woods is set
up like a University. We have "Subjects", "Departments", and even the equivalent of "Majors", "Minors", and "Special Concentrations"
in different magical traditions and Paths.
Faculty will offer a selected number
of workshops/lectures, which may all be related and taken as a series, or a Faculty members may choose to offer
several workshops on subjects in different, but related areas of study. Some of our Faculty will co-teach classes with
other Faculty members, broadening the information available to the Student.
Typically, we offer 7 Subject PathTracks...Leadership, Healing, Traditions,
Divination, Spellcraft, Ritual Construct, and Elemental Energies. We
also offer several rituals; one in the Leadership PathTrack, and others geared
to various PathTracks. Our Closing Ritual is a participatory cooperative effort.
But 2009 is NOT a "typical" year. So in light of global
economic difficulties, we are holding a Faculty Symposium. This provides
Faculty, Community, Coven, and Group Leaders the opportunity to come together and discuss the current economic and global
crisis and how it affects our Pagan and Metaphysical Community. By sharing our problems, concerns and difficulties,
we encourage out-of-the-box thinking, new ideas, and creative solutions. Leadership includes providing guidance through lean
times, as well as enjoying times of abundance. By working together, the whole Community will benefit; growing in maturity,
wisdom and compassion for each other, and tackling the challenges of our time as our Ancestors did before us : Together.

CraftWise College PathTracks
Healing PathTrack
In the
Healing PathTrack, we learn healing techniques from many traditions. Healing is not just physical; it is emotional,
psychological, and spiritual. Explore Chakra balancing, Reiki, gemstone and crystal therapies, and meditation to confront
fears and heal. Learn how to help heal others and how to heal ourselves, allowing further Spiritual growth. At the College
level, more advanced and deeper work can be achieved. Our Faculty are trained professionals, and from their unique
and diverse backgrounds, help process our healing experiences.
Leadership PathTrack
We feel this PathTrack is one of the most important. Those who have led covens or groups, organized events, or
who are Community resources, realize that there needs to be a source for new information, new
perspectives and an opportunity to sharpen their skills. CraftWise College provides just that opportunity.
Our Faculty and Staff have spent many years in our Community, speaking, leading their own groups, writing
about their experiences, and sharing wisdom garnered over the course of lifetimes. Here, leaders from around the country
can network, share experiences, and learn from one another. The Leadership PathTrack also provides the unique opportunity to begin
training the next generation of Energy and Magical practitioners, grooming them for future leadership
positions. Training one's replacement should be the first task of anyone who finds themselves "roped into" a leadership
positions.
Ritual
Construct PathTrack
Ritual
construction should be creative and fun! In creating rituals, we explore the psychological imapct of invoking
gentic memory, familiar mythologies, and surprising elements; combining all to produce a meaningful and fulfilling spiritual
experience for those in attendance. By thinking 'outside the box', our Faculty create new and unusual ways of tapping
into the primal core, sparking spiritual awareness. In these classes, students will also be helping to create the week's
Closing Ritual.
Elemental Energies
One of the first lessons taught to beginners working with Energy is
working with the Elementals. And most of the time, over time, we tend to take the elemental energies for granted. Working
with them is considered "basic", the stuff of "101" classes, for "newbies". One of the most valuable results of working with
the Brushwood Visioning Team has been helping to create physical
Elemental shrines and gaining greater understanding of Elemental complexities. In accordance with our dedication
to the Brushwood that is being created-- a more sacred space, which honours the natural worlds
around us--- we include a PathTrack which explores and honours the Elements. With the hopes that those of us who have "been
around the block" a few times will find a new way to look at these Energies and plumb their greater depths, we offer opportunities
to this end. The "Elements within the Elements" within each Element will also be explored. This PathTrack
will supplement the Sirius Rising Elemental Workshops and provide a deeper experience for
those who choose to stay for Sirius Rising.
Traditions PathTrack
One of the great strengths of the Pagan/Wiccan/Metaphysical Community
is its Diversity. To build tolerance and understanding, we encourage the exploration of as many paths and traditions as we
can find willing experienced Faculty to teach them. By experiencing the flavour of different paths, we come to understand there
is more that unites us than divides us. This has always been the hope of CraftWise and CraftWise College Events--to bring
our diverse Community together. In providing the Traditions PathTrack, we create a bridge of understanding.
Divination PathTrack
Explore the unknown, delve the mysteries of divining
the future, or come to a deep understanding of ourselves. Divination is an ancient skill, utilising finely tuned psi
abilities to ask Divinity to guide us through the rocky and confusing path of Life.
In this PathTrack, we explore the many ways people have sought Divine guidance; we may create our own.
We will hone our attunment to the divine voice we all have the ability to hear.
Spellcraft
PathTrack
Looking for Love?
Hoping for increased Prosperity? Seeking a new job, looking to lose weight, or move into a new home?
Creating a spell (also called a wish, a prayer, a hope) can help us to focus
our efforts towards achieving our goals, strengthen our resolve, or reveal a new perspective on a problem to achieve
a solution.
Just as Tarot cards, wands, and
crystal balls are tools, so are spells. They concentrate our purpose and help us create the world we want to live in. Spells
are powerful tools and require guidance and some caution before use; so, just like using a table saw, there are
precautions we need to take. With power comes responsibility, and CWC also brings this aspect of energy work to each class.

Starting in 2006, our Pathtracks began to include other areas of specialty---
we continue the Leadership
Pathtrack, because we feel it is an important educational offering to Leaders, Leaders-to-be, and to
the Community at large.
Each year, the PathTracks we offer
depends on the workshop offerings of our Speakers and on Community interest, so your input is welcomed!
Include "CraftWise College" in the subject
line .
